What a wonderful night! My best friend from childhood Nicole came over with her parents and we had a little gourmet cooking night.
First, to pick up some ingredients...
We decided on Chicken Madeira, but we had no Madeira wine, and it was Sunday so we couldn't buy any - we made Chicken Sherry instead!
Balducci's had the cutest petit fours!
Nicole and I starting off our cooking marathon...
Nicole decided to make a flan for dessert - I let her do that - caramelizing sugar seems to intimidating for me!
We made a two potato gratin with sweet potatoes and yukon gold potatoes.
And tomatoes stuffed with ricotta cheese, pine nuts, parsley and spinach.
Some shredded gruyere cheese on top, and voila, you have a gratin!
