“At night I dream that you and I are two plants
that grew together, roots entwined,
and that you know the earth and the rain like my mouth,
since we are made of earth and rain.”

In the Studio...
I'm not done yet! But I started painting my four season trees...
Initially, I was going to paint my two trees in love - but the blank space on the canvas was begging for all of my seasons to get on in there!
I love painting their swaying trunks whimsically - to me, all trees to to want to do is dance!
Then, the more I painted, the more I saw a kind of nature battle going on...
Maybe the summer and spring were joining forces...
to battle with the colder months of fall and summer?
And nature...
My nature walks are getting more and more jam-packed with amazing nature inspiration. I am seeing faces, smiles, and lots of spirit in every flower...
It's also giving me wonderful new ideas for the studio! This gave me a great painting idea - 3 happy flowers in some kind of synchronized dance? I'm thinking something lie the fantasia broomsticks... |
Every day brings a new bud, a new treasure, and every morning I wake up wondering what then next surprise will be just outside my window.
“Love the trees until their leaves fall off, then encourage them to try again next year.”

Before I go...
These are all fun little articles from boredpanda.com, but believe it or not, they're great stimulators to get that creativity going - so enjoy this eye-candy, kid-inspiration, and curious similarities!!!
Now I'd love to paint that - or see it! |
These are FRUITS - not birds!!! |
I think this is so beautifully poignant. I love how kids think - how unfiltered their imagination is, how pure their vision of the world is. |
So today, think like a kid, play with the rain, sing with the grass, and rejoice in the symphony of nature. Just get outside! See you tomorrow :)
Hope I don't double comment. I loved the energy and enthusiasm in this, and can't wait for the finished trees!
ReplyDeleteYour art is so cool!! Wish I could do something even SOMEWHAT close to that! Keep it up! :)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the interaction among the seasoned trees, and think the poem about the rain is so adorable-reminds me of Grandpa's love of the rain.
ReplyDeleteI love this art. So expressive and colorful. Nice work!
